Kayaking & Altun Ha Ruin

If you have ever kayaked before, then you must bring your experience to the class two, three, and four rapids of the tropical Belizean rivers.  On an air kayak, you will carve your way through the cascading falls and breath-taking scenery, including parrots, parakeets, flycatchers, cormorants, herons, ducks, iguanas and kingfishers – not to mention a vast array of bromeliads (air plants), orchids, epiphytic cactuses and more.

Then board a bus taking you to the Mayan pyramids of Altun Ha.  Altun Ha was the first Mayan site to be discovered in Belize, and on this tour, you will get to see first hand the gorgeous landscaping, genius ancient architecture, and Belize’s famous and ornately carved Jade Head of Kinich Ahau, the Mayan Sun God.

Climb the steps of the largest of Altun Ha’s temple-pyramids, the “Temple of the Masonry Altars”, which is 54 feet (16 m) high and is preserved on the logo of Belikin, Belize’s leading brand of beer.
