Lamanai and the New River Safari by Air

After a 20 minute flight over picturesque vistas of northern Belize’s reef, coastline and lowlands, you will start one of the most interesting tours in the Orange Walk District of Belize.  A short drive from the Tower Hill Airstrip landing brings you to Lamanai Landings, where you board a riverboat and head up the New River.  While traversing the many little creeks and lagoons, it is easy to encounter hawks, kites and falcons. Dainty jacanas (also known as Jesus birds or lily trotters) lightly walk on the lily pads while the crocodiles bask in the morning sunlight.

At the entrance to the New River Lagoon, the ruins of Lamanai (Maya for Submerged Crocodile) rise into view.  Wile touring this site, huge masks depicting dead rulers and gods seem to materialize out of the rainforest, amid the chatter of bird life and the haunting call of the howler monkeys.  Your guide will point out the Copal and Ramon trees, which were of great importance in ancient times.

Return to Lamanai Landings and select your lunch from a range of buffet items at the Smoky Mermaid II, situated on the banks of the New River. After lunch you return to Tower Hill Airstrip and board your return flight to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.

No minimum required.

Includes transportation, guide, fees, lunch, beverage. Does not include $5 US Park Fee

You haven’t fished for tarpon until you’ve done it in Belize, specifically in the waters of Ambergris Caye.  With a consistently plentiful population of tarpon, fishing for them is ideal all year round.

Enjoy a half or full day of picture perfect fishing, as our guides take you through the Caribbean and the lagoon side of the island.  You may find Savannah Flats, a famed spot for tarpon fishing – one you will definitely want to ask your guide about.  Waters are three to eight feet deep, and most reel in tarpon ranging from 50-100 pounds.

Includes: fishing gear, water, and soft drinks.

Maximum 2 persons.  Four hours for half day; 8 hours for full day.

Mini Speed Boat Around the Island Adventure

Tour the Caribbean Sea and the Belize Barrier Reef in your own personal mini speed boats.  With our fleet of up to 6 mini speed boats, you can scream across the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea at speeds of up to 35 mph, all while passing by bright coral, sting rays, and schools of tropical fish.

For this “Around the Island Adventure,” you will explore the opposite side of Ambergris Caye, or as locals call it, the Lagoon Side. You will carve your way through island patches and mangroves in your own mini speed boat, and then shoot back to the Caribbean Sea side through the San Pedro River.
